SPECIAL SKILLS: Puggle, this cute and cuddly hybrid breed is the offspring of two different species (Pug and Beagle). Before you go out and purchase a Puggle, understand that hybrid breeds are nothing like a mix breed. Mix breeds consist of three or more different species of dog. It’s also difficult for a veterinarian to predict the longevity and temperament of the mixed animal. While hybrid breeds narrow it down for the owner and vet. Designer group dog.

SIZE: Puggles are the perfect size for most people: weighing 15-20 pounds and growing to be 10-15 inches in height

COAT: Puggles have short hair; fawn, black, beige, or silver in color and have a black mask that distinguishes them from other hybrid breeds.

CARE REQUIRED: Set your priorities and help your Puggle live a healthy and active life. Care must also be taken when you groom your Puggle. Pet retail stores carry hypoallergenic shampoos that are made for dogs with sensitive skin. Although your pup may be able to handle something harsher, why expose him or her to it. Instead, look for products that have less harmful chemicals in it. If you happen to get shampoo in your Puggle’s eyes, rinse immediately and don’t get over excited. Your tone will set the mood of the bath. After the coat has dried, use a rubber brush to remove loose hairs. Take your time brushing. Most dogs love a good brushing from time to time; think of it as someone scratching a spot on your back you just can’t reach. Relief….

CHARACTER: This sociable pup has a personality all of its own. It’s intelligent and eager to please, which makes the Puggle an excellent family pet. From the loose fitting body skin to the wrinkly face, the Puggle brings laughter into your day. Vigorous wags of his or her curly tail show just how excited it is to be a part of your family.

TRAINING: Interaction is just as important for dogs as it is for humans. A few hours a day, a few soft spoken commands, and within little time, you’ve taught your Puggle the basic commands. Now, you’re ready to play games like hide and seek, fetch the ball, and chase.

SOCIAL BEHAVIOR: This hybrid breed makes an excellent pet for seniors and adults with children.

EXERCISE: Puggles that learn to socialize early on become well adjusted companions. All dogs have a sense of ranking among one another and humans. In the home, they realize that you are master because you’re larger, but when they’re in a room with other canines their position in ranking changes. Introducing a social atmosphere to your puppy early on helps them mature into a well adjusted pet. The socializing period lasts up to 12 weeks. It’s crucial that each social outing they have is a good experience. Do: 1.Invite other pets for play time to your home. 2.Carry your puppy in the beginning to places like the park. 3.Take your puppy for short rides in the car. 4.Introduce your puppy to objects in the home that make loud noises or are large. 5.Introduce the harness and leash to your Puggle pup. Do not: 1.Put puppy on the ground where unknown animals have access. 2.Reward puppy for poor behavior. 3.Allow any experience to be harmful or frightening to your dog. 4.Force or rush your dog to act or react to a situation or command.
